Born and raised in Lien Chau Commune, Yen Lac District, Dr. Thảo’s journey to becoming a doctor was driven by her childhood dream of helping her family and others overcome illnesses. Despite concerns from her family about the challenges of pursuing a medical career as a young woman, her determination and talent shone through.
Dr. Thảo began her career at Vinh Phuc Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital after graduating in 2010. Recognized for her strong expertise, she was selected for further training at leading institutions such as the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital. Upon completing her training, she returned to the Pediatrics Department, where her passion, skill, and care transformed the lives of countless young patients.
Notable Achievements
Dr. Thảo's work is marked by extraordinary cases, including saving a 29-week preterm infant weighing just 1.2 kg, who faced life-threatening conditions like severe infections and necrotizing enterocolitis. Through her precise decisions and relentless effort, the baby survived and thrived, bringing immeasurable joy to the family and the medical team.
In 2022, Dr. Thảo assumed the role of Head of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, managing critical cases with skill and compassion. Her exceptional abilities were evident from her first day in the role when she and her team successfully saved a one-month-old infant suffering from brain hemorrhage and severe infection—a case that cemented her commitment to the field.
Dr. Thảo remains a tireless advocate for her patients, embodying the principle of “Lương y như từ mẫu” (A good doctor is like a kind mother) as taught by President Hồ Chí Minh. Her work continues to bring hope and healing to children and their families, reflecting her profound dedication to neonatal and pediatric care.
